The Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra (LASO) and Dance Arts Los Alamos (DALA) present an evening of symphonic music and dance on Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at Duane Smith Auditorium in Los Alamos. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

This vibrant artistic experience blends orchestral masterpieces with dynamic ballet performances. DALA will offer a special preview of La Lune de Bleu, an original three-act ballet by Artistic Director Jonathan Guise.

The concert will showcase excerpts, including Apollo’s dance, solos by Hera, Athena, and Nike, and a pas de deux between Selene and Endymion, performed by guest artist Aiden Moss from Ballet San Antonio. The full ballet premieres on May 2, with a matinee on May 4 at Duane Smith Auditorium, featuring choreography by Guise and other local artists, along with new costumes and scenic design by Los Alamos creators. The symphony will also feature world-renowned pianist Dr. Haewon Yang, performing Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor. Under the direction of LASO’s conductor William Waag—who also leads the Santa Fe Youth Symphony and Santa Fe Community Orchestra—the program will highlight Othello Suite by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Finlandia by Jean Sibelius.
