Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

In 2026, the Golf Classic will be held on Friday, August 14 with 9 a.m. shotgun start/scramble at Los Alamos Golf Course. The Y's tournament is a favorite among golfers because of the numerous games of chance that are hosted along the course, net score winners, the delicious post event meal and the wonderful lottery prizes awarded.
The Family YMCA's Annual Golf Classic raises funds to support youth programs and scholarships. In 2025, donor support provided over $132,000 in scholarship assistance, making it possible for families to access Y programs throughout the year. 259 scholarships supported adults and youth who relied on financial assistance to participate in programs like afterschool care, camp, sports, and wellness. Last year, 446 middle and high school students found belonging, mentorship, and support through the Española YMCA Teen Center, a safe place to grow, connect, and lead.
