Manhattan Project National Historical Park will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, April 8, with a community event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge’s Pajarito Room in Los Alamos. Doors will open to the public at 5 p.m.

The event starts with a program that reflect on the park’s first decade of preserving and sharing the complex history of the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos and its lasting impact on the world. Following the program conclusion at 6:15 p.m., the event will offer visitors and locals an opportunity to connect with park staff and partners, learn more about the park’s mission, and commemorate a decade of preservation, education, and public engagement.

Established in 2015, Manhattan Project National Historical Park preserves historically significant sites in Los Alamos, New Mexico; Hanford, Washington; and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In Los Alamos, the park interprets the history of the scientific and military efforts that led to the development of the atomic bomb during World War II, while also exploring the broader scientific, cultural, and ethical legacy of that work.

Community members, visitors, and partners are encouraged to attend, celebrate with cake, and help mark this milestone anniversary.
