Get your hands dirty and celebrate the amazing world beneath our feet during Nature at Night: Summer Series with special guests from Worm and Wildflowers Nature School! Nature at Night: Summer Series is sponsored by Del Norte Credit Union. Explore the Nature Center after hours and enjoy our exhibits and outdoor spaces. Starting at 5 p.m., join educators from Worms and Wildflowers Nature School for a hands-on soil celebration! Hunt for soil critters, explore the textures and colors of soil, make friends with a worm, help create compost stew, and take home your very own chia pet. Worms and Wildflowers Nature School fosters intrinsic curiosity, child-led play, and outdoor stewardship for children ages 2.5–12. Meeting in all weather, they offer hands-on exploration in outdoor classrooms and wild spaces, including seasonal observation, farm-to-table food systems, hiking, animal care, creative woodworking, and wildcraft. Located in White Rock, New Mexico, their preschool and afterschool classes support social-emotional development and foundational academic skills while cultivating a lifelong love of the natural world. Nature at Night is a free weekly program at the Los Alamos Nature Center, happening Wednesdays from 4 - 6 p.m. During June and July, the Summer Series includes special guest presenters beginning at 5 p.m., adding even more opportunities to connect with nature.
Come early for our free weekly planetarium program.
