Bandelier National Monument’s Shuttle Service to Begin
Published on March 17, 2026
Bandelier National Monument, in partnership with Atomic City Transit, will begin the free shuttle service to Frijoles Canyon on Thursday, March 19, 2026. The shuttle boards at the Frey Trail Parking Lot in the park starting at 10:30 am.
Unlike previous years, the shuttle is not mandatory unless the parking lots in the canyon are filled up. The park has worked with Atomic City Transit to run the shuttles during peak visitation times. Please refer to the schedule for information on the dates the shuttle will operate for the 2026 season.
“We are excited to partner with Atomic City Transit and offer visitors opportunities to ride the shuttle during peak times and also take advantage of other park trails such as the Frey Trail or the Tyuonyi Overlook trail,” said Patrick Suddath, Bandelier Superintendent.
There is no charge for riding the shuttle, but all normal entry fees still apply for entering the park. Fees are based on the vehicle visitors arrive in. Valid America the Beautiful passes are accepted and honored.
