New fire in Jemez Mountains; smoke may be visible

Los Alamos, New Mexico—A new fire near Battleship Rock in the Jemez Mountains has been reported this morning and has burned about 30 acres. Sandoval Fire has been dispatched. Smoke may be visible throughout the day. There is no threat to Los Alamos from this fire.
There is a Go order for residents in Sierra de Los Pinos and Vallecitos, and Jemez Falls Campground. Use caution if traveling through this area as firefighters may be along NM-4. Further details about the fire can be found on the Watch Duty site: https://app.watchduty.org/i/104385.
