PEEC Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Special Events Throughout April

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is thrilled to announce a month-long celebration in honor of its 25th anniversary, culminating in the highly anticipated 25th Annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The festival, a beloved community tradition, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend! The Earth Day Festival promises a fun-filled day with entertainment, food, hands-on activities, and informational booths designed to inspire and educate attendees about environmental stewardship.
Festival Highlights:
● Entertainment: Recycle Man returns with his creative musical performances using recycled objects as instruments! The Hill Stompers will also perform.
● Food: Savor delicious Native American fusion cuisine from Manko.
● Engaging Activities: Explore informational booths, interactive games, and special screenings in the nature center’s planetarium.
But the celebration doesn’t stop there! PEEC invites the community to participate in various events happening throughout April in honor of Earth Day.

● Art & Nature with Los Alamos Arts Council Opening Reception: Friday, April 4, 5-7 p.m.
● Limited-Run 'Into the Woods' Beer Debut at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op: Thursday, April 10, 4-7 p.m.
● PEEC Anniversary Plant Walk with Craig Martin: Tuesday, April 22, 5:30 p.m.
● Los Alamos Big Band Plays Under the Stars at the LANC Planetarium: Friday, April 25, 7-8 p.m.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies.
