Registration Open for Wildlife Tracking Workshop September 13
Published on August 27, 2025
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites nature lovers and outdoor explorers to join certified wildlife tracker Ann Hunkins for a hands-on tracking workshop on the trails: Tracking Wildlife on the Pajarito Plateau: Part 2! This exciting event will take place on Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Back by popular demand! Whether or not participants attended the first session, all are welcome for this next chapter in PEEC’s tracking series. The group will explore a local trail to learn how to interpret signs of wildlife in the landscape: tracks, scat, markings, gait patterns, and more. Through observation and storytelling, participants will deepen their understanding of animal movement, habitat, and natural history.
No prior tracking experience is necessary, but participants should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain and prepared for outdoor conditions. Attendees will meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center to begin the guided field experience.
Pricing is $40 for PEEC Members and $50 for non-members. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
