Nestled in the beautiful eastern edge of the Jemez Mountains just five miles west of Los Alamos, Pajarito Mountain Ski Hill offers a true New Mexico alpine experience, perfect for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Just a short drive from downtown Los Alamos, this family-friendly ski area combines breathtaking mountain views, uncrowded slopes, and an authentic Southwestern vibe. Pajarito is open to the public, selling both day tickets and season passes. In addition to skiing and mountain biking, Pajarito Mountain is also a popular attraction for hikers, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers.

Skiing & Snowboarding

With over 300 skiable acres, Pajarito offers terrain for every skill level. Beginners can rent gear and glide down wide, gentle slopes, while experts can bring their own gear and tackle steep moguls, trees, and thrilling black diamonds. Plus, with an average annual snowfall of 70+ inches, Pajarito delivers powder throughout the season. For 2024-2025, they're opening EARLY on November 9, 2024!

If you're looking to advance your skills, Pajarito Mountain offers group lessonsprivate lessons, and friends and family lessons. Never skied and more than 13 years old? Come on a Thursday or Friday for a free "Never Ever Lesson"!

Depending on time of year, you can choose whether you want to eat indoors or on their spacious deck. In a hurry? Order ahead so your food’s ready when you arrive at the lodge.

After your meal, head to The Bird’s Nest! This friendly little shop in the lodge has everything you need, from cozy hats and gloves to cool Pajarito swag like tees, hoodies, and stickers.
